Tonite I went to a non-profit meeting. An acquaintance of ours started a non-profit org with another lady. They sent me an invite to their first meeting. There were about 15 women there. I asked the founder what this org is about. She said .. when she was growing up ..everyboby had a “community” feeling and she wants to bring that back. Also, she talked about a cause like V*iolence against W*omen and women can open up and support each other etc. She was hoping that it can be added in school curriculum so that kids don’t need to be afraid to talk about what goes on in their homes.

Hmm…somehow.. I cannot buy that. Their agenda seems very vague to me. Maybe they haven’t found their purpose yet. But .. getting together with bunch of women around the neighborhood and starting a conversation is entirely different from asking these same ladies “Please share any violence or abuse that you have experienced”. I don’t want to know if my neighbor is abused ……

If I want to support a non profit .. it would about “single working moms” or “troubled kids”.

But fact of the matter is my acquaintance and her friend are trying to make a difference while I am sitting here and whining.

We took all the stuff out of the office and I painted the room last week. While I was going to Home Depot to get some brushes, baby and I dropped in at a picture frame store next door. They had a huge clearance. Baby didn’t let me shop much. I said “Baby, you are a pain”. She replied “No, I am not a paint”. The next evening I went all by myself and got a whole bunch of black frames for almost nothing. I got couple of black mantels for D so he can display some of his stuff.

Now the decorating part is done, we need to do that actual work. The PAPER WORK.

R has a lot of questions these days. Like if a tiger and elephant fight, who will win .. these questions keep going on and on. Sometimes they get weird too. Like who wins between a Lion and a tomato.
We showed them Superman movie yesterday and they were so fascinated by that guy flying. I told them that one of the Indian Gods .. Hanuman ( The monkey God) could fly too.

L sent me a message that she had the baby. No further details. Speaking of babies, a friend of mine sent me his newborn baby’s pics. I told him that the baby looks like him. He wrote back “Really? I thought only his nose looks like mine and the chin and the mouth looks like my wife’s”. At that point, I wanted to write back “I was just being nice. I couldn’t care less who the baby looks like .. nonetheless, I am very happy for you”.

This week I need to get my office redone. It needs a huge redo. Any ideas .. throw them at me. The project has to be done by friday.

Last night we went to Chucky E Cheese to attend a birthday party. It was a first time for all of us. Mama had lots of fun.
